Being located within one of Australia's
premier wine regions there are many things to do and see, including:
McLaren
Vale & Fleurieu Visitors Centre.
The McLaren Vale &
Fleurieu Visitor Centre is a tourist information and booking centre and
is located only 200 meter's from the motel (see the location map for details). The Centre provides free holiday
and tour bookings, wine tastings and sales, gift shop, cafe and conference
facilities.
Wineries
McLaren Vale is recognized as one
of Australia's
premium grape growing regions containing many wineries with cellar door
sales. Wineries include: Hardy's
Tintara , Seaview, Chapel Hill , Wirra Wirra , d'Arenberg, Haselgrove , Hamilton, Horndale, Patritti, Shottesbrooke
Vineyards, Tatachilla, Fox Creek Wines and Rosemont Estate.
Most winery cellar doors are open 10am to 5pm daily (except for Good Friday and

Art & Craft Shops
A "Fleurieu Artists & Heritage Trail" showcases a
dedicated group of artists, craftspeople and photographers located within the
Fleurieu region. Smaller shops and gallery's including Bank Artel , Red Poles, Magpie springs , Bella Cosa , Old Mill Antiques, Willunga Antiques
are also located within McLaren Vale and surrounding towns. The Fleurieu Biennale , a
national visual arts festival, is also held in the region.
Plant Nurseries
There are many plant nurseries in the
area and a special Gardener's Trail is available that allows you to visit
some specialist nurseries set amongst the spectacular scenery. These
nurseries include Ross
Roses , Hillside Herbs, Poolmans Nursery, Richardson's Garden Nursery,
Southern Native Plant Nursery, Perry's Fruit & Nut Nursery , Yundi Protea World, Old
Willunga Hill Geranium Nursery, Bergonia Farm , Wagners Rose Nursery and The Fern Forest Nursery

Whilst touring the region, why

(see the location map for details). The famous

08 8556 2379,) at Willunga and the Salopian Inn (Ph 08 8323 8769, Salopian Inn ) at McLaren Vale are
located a short drive away.

Along with producing some of Australia's
best wine, the region produces delicious gourmet food. Experience the

Heritage Features
The McLaren Vale region is
steeped in heritage with
its history going back to 1839 when the surveyor John McLaren finished
surveying the district. Examples of its heritage are still around and a new
Heritage Walk allows visitors to explore the history of McLaren Vale and its
surrounds. The walk starts at the McLaren Vale & Fleurieu Visitor Centre located only
200 meter's from the motel. Also take a stroll down the new Bushing Kings
& Queens Walk starting at the McLaren Vale Hall.
Beaches
Some of Australia's finest beaches, with long stretches of
clean sand, beautifully coloured cliffs, spectacular reefs and conservation
reserves, are located only a short drive from the motel. Both Moana and
Sellick's beach are located only 8km from the motel, while the nudist Maslin Beach is even closer.
